Take 5, the 10-minute oil change service, opens its 300th franchise
This brand is expanding as quickly as it does oil changes.
Take 5 Oil Change, which invites customers to stay in their cars for a 10-minute service, this week opened its 300th franchised location in Decatur, Ga.
The first year the chain landed on Franchise Times’ Top 400 list in 2020, it was ranked 198th with a 24% sales increase. It then climbed to 152nd in 2021 and 134th in 2022 before busting into the top 100 with a rank of 87th this year.
The magazine ranked Take Five as the fifth fastest-growing chain by sales growth (47%) and the eighth biggest expander with 20 new franchises opened in the past year.
In its franchisee literature, Take 5 relates that its founders got their inspiration for the concept from the hospitality industry and set out to turn the mundane task of getting an oil change in to an enjoyable customer-focused experience.
Take 5 locations open early and close late, do not require appointments, and are open on Sundays. Their motto is “The Fastest Oil Change on the Planet!”
Over the past year, Take 5 owner Driven Brands has begun introducing co-developed franchises of Take 5 Oil Change and Take 5 Car Wash.

Take 5 Car Wash, which burst upon the scene in 2020, already has close to 400 locations and operates with the same fast-and-friendly service proposition employed by Take 5 Oil Change.
